Babybond’s Bonding scans are designed to complement, not replace, your regular NHS antenatal scans and should not be seen as a substitute. They provide you, your partner, family and friends with the opportunity to meet your baby early on in a home from home environment, to keep records of your scan and, as confirmed by thousands of our clients over the last 8 years, to enhance the emotional bond with your new baby. Babybond’s Bonding scans do not repeat the measurements and screening protocols typically performed at your hospital scan thereby not prolonging needlessly your scan time with us. We never include the use of high powered Doppler modalities during your Bonding scan. The protocol used by Babybond for its ultrasound scans has never been shown to cause harm to either mother or baby. Babybond uses the As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) principle when scanning. The study of ultrasound safety continues to be reviewed by the British Medical Ultrasound Society (BMUS). Babybond does not support the scanning of pregnant women at exhibitions, the practice of which is contrary to current BMUS safety guidelines.
