The company is owned by Pat Barrett who has been involved in the Exhaust manufacturing industry for many years. Having previously worked for Formula One teams, Pat has the experience and first hand knowledge of designing and manufacturing bespoke exhaust systems to provide services to a vast range of clients, including the Formula 1 teams (F1); Le Mans; Supercar owners and race teams including Koenigsegg, Porsche, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Lamborghini and BMW M Series; MotoGP; World Superbikes; Formula 3; FIA GT; Historic F1 (Thoroughbred Grand Prix); World Rally (WRC); British Touring Car Championship (BTCC); World Touring Car Championship (WTCC); Rallycross and off-shore powerboat owners. Primary Designs supply a range of products including thin wall Inconel race exhausts for F1, Supercar and Le Mans etc; light weight Stainless Steel Exhausts for Race and performance cars; Titanium exhausts for Superbikes; GP Moto and Supercars; Engine Dyno exhausts for Race engine builders; Turbo and Supercharger installations and Prototype exhaust Design and Manufacture. With a workforce of 12 highly skilled Formula One (F1) trained engineers, Primary Designs are well placed to provide bespoke exhaust systems to the motorsport industry and supercar owners. Primary Design''s services include: Design: 3D CAD is one of the most widely used tools in reaching the finished product when producing Race car or Supercar exhausts. Primary Designs consulted their top customers in F1 and LMP Sports cars in 2002, as a result they now use Siemens Solid Edge ST2 - a product which shares similar architecture and file integration to Unigraphics NX (as used by some Formula1 teams). Primary Designs use Tube Expert - a bespoke CAD software for exhaust design. Tube Bending: Primary Designs tube bending department can manufacture tube to an almost indefinite range of sizes from 47mm diameter to 83mm diameter in material thickness 0.3mm-1.2mm up to 400mm long in Inconel, Stainless Steel and Titanium.
