About Sailing By Cottages Sailing By cottages are situated in the very heart of the old fisherman’s quarter, in a quaint cobbled street called The Digey. In one direction, they are literally a minutes’ walk from the harbour and the famous 16th century Sloop Inn. Whilst in the other direction a minutes’ walk will find you overlooking Porthmeor’s surfers beach, where the Tate Gallery is also located. No. 11 The Digey No.11 The Digey is a beautifully proportioned cottage which sleeps 6 (4+2). On the ground floor there is a well equipped kitchen/diner area which has a feature fireplace with electric log style wood burner and a wall mounted 20” TV/DVD player. The stable door opens directly on to The Digey, and there is also a nice window seat with lots of cushions. The cottage is set back slightly from the main cobbled lane, which creates a nice area to sit for that first cup of tea in the morning or that pre dinner glass of wine in the evening. A pair of chairs for two and a patio table are provided. The comfortable living room area is on the first floor. This has a comfortable settee/sofa bed and also a day bed with a memory foam mattress. Both have plentiful cushions. Again there is a window seat which overlooks The Digey. The living area has a 32” flat screen Television and DVD player as well as an iPod dock. This room is heated by a warm air remote controlled electric log burner. Both the living room and the kitchen area have a lovely ambiance with reclaimed ships masts supporting the beams. They are bountiful in character but with a contemporary feel. The stairs from the living room rise to the upper landing, where you will find the double bedroom. This is a lovely, peaceful and tranquil space. The bed has a memory foam mattress topper and a duck down feather 13 tog duvet and crisp cotton linen provided, perfect for a restful night’s sleep. There is a double built in mirror fronted wardrobe with hanging space and a window seat over The Digey. The room is heated by a wall mounted oil filled radiator. Also of the landing, next to the bedroom is the spacious bathroom with shower cubicle, sink, toilet and a heated towel rail. Sailing By Cottages are located only minutes from all St Ives beaches, shops and nearest car parks, Yet tucked quietly away in this idyllic cobbled lane, The Digey.
